Richard Williams' "A Christmas Carol"

A brilliant though brisk animated adaptation of Dickens' beloved tale by master animator Richard Williams. First seen on US TV in the early 1970s, where it completely freaked me out!

I had found an 8mm Video camcorder for $9.00 and decided to run some tests with it. This video was the result. Not particularly interesting, but it does capture the LC nitrate vaults in the last year before the beginning of our move to Culpeper. The entire crew is in this video, including Larry Smith, Kevin Sikes, Robyn Schnellenberger, Richard Floyd, and the late Irwin Rosenfeld.

In 1991, I borrowed my mom's camcorder to help create a video for the MPCC to show to the Madison Council. This is not that video, but one I shot for my fold to show them where I worked. Fairly, dull, but a candid look at a place that no longer exists. In fact, this building, at Wright-Patterson AFB, is in the process of being torn down. All mumbled comments in this video are my own, and do not...
The Triumphon Lives!

After a major cleaning, new governor weights and motor mount grommets, this neat German portable phonograph lives again! Pretty nice for an initial investment of $19.95! The song is "When the Grown-Up Ladies Act Like Babies", sung by the inimitable Billy Murray.

While oiling and regulating the motor to a Triumphon portable phonograph, I was taken by the beauty of it's gently meshing gears and had to capture it.
ODOR IN THE COURT with Clark & McCullough
Переглядів 12 тис.10 років тому
Bobby Clark and Paul McCullough were one of the most popular comedy teams you've never heard of! Hugely popular on Broadway, they brought their anarchistic comedy to Hollywood at the Dawn of Sound and continued making films and appearing on stage until Paul McCullough's sad and untimely death in 1936. Bobby Clark continued on well into the 1950's appearing in restoration comedies and on Televis...

From a nitrate print which was originally unidentified. Thanks to our sharp-brained coterie of film geeks, it turns out to be a well preserved short for which the original negative exists.

I still got this VHS in my collection. The Big Boy is one of the biggest and mosey insane steam engines ever made and I really hope to get an HO model of it.
Кстати сегодня день рождения моего Пра Пра Дедушки Пети ему сейчас исполнилось сегодня 112 лет и он в тот же год тоже родился в 1912 году😢😢😢
The Gaumont Phonoscene was even earlier than this.
I'd like to see 4014 pull freight trains again. Maybe pull a few intermodel trains too
5:18 rare footage of UP 5511
7:03 this music is from many Yogi Bear episodes in “the Huckleberry Hound show”
I remember watching this and always wanting to run either 9000 or the BiG Boy, I always thought they looked awesome
I love 4014s they're the bomb
i knew karen tedder her son rory was my best friend we went to high school together later in life she got mouth cancer she still tryed to sing i really liked her sadly both of her sons jeff and rory walford have passed away
Matthew Broderick!
4:31 *husky little haulers*
Drove a '76 Hornet Sportabout wagon in college, orange with fake wood paneling. Bought used for $600 with under 30k miles. Damn I miss that car.
I really wish Chrysler would re-release some of the AMC cars. I would love to see the Javelin.
I had this as a VHS when I was a kid, and dreamed of the moment in the beginning where a young kid sees one rolling by. It's so awesome to watch now, 30 years later, and see they only got the "happy memory" part wrong, with 4014 now operable.
A company in Europe can apparently hydrate that, but I do not know what they are charging.

Union Pacific: the 9000 class was the largest non articulate locomotive ever built PRR S1: am i a joke to you?
The Union Pacific tried to replace the big boy many times with turbine powered locomotives after they retired it but they could never match the raw power of it.
What type of whistle is At 4:24 and 5:04?
That was a Star Brass 5 chime whistle.
100 years from now was right. Incredible!
AMC built some pretty dependable cars and trucks. Never cared for the Pacer much. AND back when they sold Jeep it was less prone to issues and had less mechanical problems. I miss the simpler days.
6:12 6:21
5:49-6:19 That’s the problem the soviet union had with AA20 4-14-4 (Andrey Andreyev).
I watch this all the time when I run my ho scale big boy on my layout
Awsome cars , would love one now .
Most recently, I heard that Big Boy helped a stalled diesel train get up a hill in Blair, Nebraska.
man I remember watching this 10 Years ago when I was 5 and still into thomas. Now I'm taking my first steps into serious model railroading. Finally remembered the title of this amazing documentary.
This is a genuine message. The bit about sex impulse still applies today.
1:43 Those are some pre-code gams right there 👀
Beautiful Engine once again proves that they don't make them like that anymore.
The train is the boss of this in 1960 off the life For That Feels Like 1932-1966
Feels like in the 1970s The Big Boy 4014 is the largest train in 1970
The 4014 wasn’t the only Big Boy locomotive that operated back then.
This is sorta interesting . . . but wtf is with that fu%king loud ass organ music? geeeeez it hurts my brain. Looks like the roots of why Americans are so damn sexually repressed
We, our country, should always have the 1300's and 1400's on stand by to haul heavy loads. Keep the coal and water stops along the tracks.
15:30. That guy is missing a finger
15:35
This VHS inspired me as a young boy.
Same here.
Hello, I recently found a reel of 16mm in a flea market in Italy, and when I scanned it, it came out that it was shot with a HoMovie Camera (film shot in 1936 in Italy). If you can give me your e-mail address I can write you more about it. Thanks in advance and Best Regards. Karianne Fiorini

Это наверное лучший паровоз в мире💥💯💥💥💯💥
Thank You Thank You 😊
Now that I look back; I wish I never overlooked AMC; When I started driving in 1973. I could afford a used one back then. Thanks for the video.
And it is back in action and with more power due to changing to oil burning.
We’ve designed a car that looks like a greenhouse (the Pacer) and nobody has done that before
Thank God! That was the only AMC product I never liked.
They hadn’t done that, yet. . .
What are the titles of the music found throughout the film? I’ve heard it in more than one place so I’m wondering if it’s on Universal Studios’ music archive or something.
I got this mug on tape. About worn out.
This film deserves an HD restoration.
The ONLY FOOTAGE OF 9000 IN OPERATION! LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN AGAIN!
Bullshit talker
BS nothing! This is frickin’ nostalgia!
I personally hate the word evolution. Cause it’s usually something the devil uses to get people to disbelieve the holy Bible. The truth.
If #5511 at 5:18 looks like its smoke isn't being lifted very high, that's because it's not actually steaming. That locomotive was out of service by the time the movie was made, but to make it appear operational, the railroad set some tires on fire in its smokebox and pushed its train from behind with a diesel locomotive. The visibly weak puffs come from the valve gear being moved by the rotating driving wheels. You'll also note the lack of steam coming out of other places on the locomotive--compare it to the film segments just before.
